First, let me say that I am extremely thrilled with NGUI. It is a wonderful tool for making UIs and very easy to use.
That said, I would like to suggest that you consider some enhancements that would make it even easier to use. Here's the deal: we are working on both games and e-books. For games, we use Unity, and for e-books, we use software like Moglue. Moglue provides drag-and-drop functionality, where you just drag things around the screen until you like where they are. For my partner, who is more of a designer than a coder, this is a much better way to work than typing number in the transforms to position and scale design elements.
So I was thinking about what it would take to make NGUI easier for designers, and I came up with the following features:
1) Allow elements to be positioned and re-sized by dragging.
2) Provide align-left-edges, align-horizontal-centers, etc., and distribute-horizontal-centers, etc. commands, similar to what Photoshop provides. One would select several sprites, issue the command, and everything would be aligned to the first one.
3) Make it possible to design using UITextures, then easily change them to UISprites. This would make it easy to lay out the design before making all the images into an atlas.
Thanks for considering this....
