After months of hard work Michael has finally gotten to a point where, thanks to all his supporters of NGUI, he requires help to maintain both the forums and NGUI itself and that is where I, Philip Cosgrave come in. To tell you a little about myself I have worked with Michael for the past 3 years both professionally and personally from game engines to games themselves. With Michael's creativity and ingenuity and my logic and reasoning I feel we will be able to not just support NGUI but expand it to meet the growing need for a professional GUI system for Unity (Oh and make some really awesome games at the same time).
After months of not seeing a update the first thing I needed to do was insure that NGUI Free was using the latest code base. So I'm pleased to announce that NGUI Free is now the same as NGUI 2.0.7c. In the future I will be doing my best to maintain the free versions although only periodic updates should be expected.
For those who wish to use NGUI as part of Asset store bound UnityPackage I'm also please to announce NGUI Distribution. This is a simplified version of NGUI Free removing all the example scenes, assets and scripts saving a whopping 4.3MB in package size.

I was beginning to wonder how Michael was going to continue his almost realtime support AND the code base. Now I know! :)
Thanks for introducing yourself! It will be great to get both support and updates! (Not that Michael couldn't do both if he gave up sleeping...)

What's the big difference between NGUI free and NGUI full now?

Free version has a chunk of code hidden in a DLL, has OnGUI text that shows up, and a watermark as well. It also doesn't do highlighting of the currently selected widget, and can't build to Flash.

Free version is 2.7.0 now, which comes in full source code form (no more DLLs), so yes.
