Unity 4.6 UI first impressions
« on: November 26, 2014, 09:35:58 AM »
Dear all

havent updated to 4.6 yet but looking at the tutorial a lot looks like taken from NGUI. Still NGUI appears better option.

Any had a look and can share some impression?

@Aren, just a question. Can NGUI have better perfs if it's based on the open source code of Unity UI? (But please don't do it, I'm afraid of the update process ahah)

@r.pedra: Most likely, but too much would need to change for that.

@creativitysquare: NGUI has more features, as to be expected. Also, I worked on uGUI for over a year, so some "inspiration" is to be expected.

I've tried the new ui for some weeks now and I'm having lots of problems with performance when using lots of ui objects. So ngui is the choice for me :)
