what the "Professional" in version 3.0.6 stand for?

yes, it costs a little more and you get git access to the "beta" repository.

Asset store and pro version is almost the same; asset store has some overhead on how long it takes to push out an update, while the Pro version has direct access to a git repository.

They align after a short while, but the pro version gets individual changes and fixes first, while the asset store gets more complete packages as updates.

It has been that way for a long time. I don't think there's an upgrade path, since the asset store and the pro version is a bit different, but you'll have to hear from ArenMook.

Maybe he'll cut you a deal on the pro version since you already have the other one or something. We ended up buying both in my team.

Yes, you can upgrade by simply paying the difference in license fees. I generally advise people to have 1 Pro license for their Lead Developer and the rest being single seat licenses. This way you won't pay much more, and you will have access to the latest changes, features, and fixes.
