Is there really no sticky / written documentation for this?

You mean this sticky? http://www.tasharen.com/forum/index.php?topic=11.msg27296#msg27296

The reply right below it has links to videos as well, one of which has me doing an upgrade myself.

Didn't notice that was part of the thread.

In the video, when you replace your UIFooSprites with UISprites it seemed to remember the previous settings such as atlas and sprite.  However, that is not working for me, which caused me to roll back to 2.x because, well, yeah.  Is there some trick or sequence to get the settings to restore when changing the scripts?  I am on 4.3.2 on OSX if that makes a difference.

Edit:  You should also add something about UIDraggablePanel to that post.  And there really should be a sticky just for the upgrade procedure, as it's like, a really big deal and kind of important.  A place for people to add their experiences and tips would be helpful as well.

Atlas and sprite settings get kept if you use the upgrade tools. Are they not kept for you? What are the steps you're taking?

The release note threads is a sticky.

A section in page 2 is not.

It might be obvious best practice to read through the release notes thread, but the release notes thread is not even titled Release Notes. It's titled with the latest version. One might think it was a thread about this point release.

It is possible to learn from user feedback. Things are less obvious from another perspective.
