Title: Bugs.
Post by: greyDrifter on January 18, 2013, 09:18:26 PM
Hot seat.
On victory the losing faction disappears from the expanding player menu to the left.
normal... player no longer on board

Followed by a symbol change from player to cog.
I thought I saw it change but need to verify.

On expansion [AI] is listed in the place of the nickname.
Okay, by its very nature; how can either of a hot seat be [AI]?

Sorry was tired when that was posted... not sure if what I saw was real or not at the moment.

Single player...
Select Team
Win or Lose
Scores shown with "Victory" regardless of players standing at the end of the match.
Return to the main menu.
Re-select single player.
No choice of team.

(Must use the "x" and re-select single player to continue.)

Okay, it seems it does offer defeat when far skewed.
Not sure how scoring is done.

After a game and score posted.
If one selects Hot Seat.
One can select and aim units;
but no units move along the routes.

Woo bugs :(

Time to fix...

Fixed them all as far as I can tell. Also time-expired victory depends only on one factor: the number of stars controlled by the faction at the end. Nothing else matters. :)

Okay, I should count my holdings next time.  (The full screen portion of the image matches, the partials are unknown.) Those matches didn't feel like victories as the foe still remained... Somehow: Victory and Genocide are emotional synonyms.

Off to find another unintended feature.

Time-based victory is going to be an option. I do like the hour-long marathons when played with friends with voice chat. Very entertaining.

Found one...

Launch it. Play a round... and concede defeat after being stretched to thin from a split position.
Red X. Wait an hour or two at the menu... single player again... no teams to choose from.

Not one that will be common ... unless players make a habit of using your menu as a lobby.

Clarification: wait until the simulation has reached a state of stability... (one color remains.)
Last star does not change, then attempt single player.

Does the simulation in the background of the menu count as a potential bug location.  Your AI's can send ships bidirectionally.  If they can do it there they can do it in game.

Clarification: if may just be a high switching speed but there is an illusion that the AI is sending ships in both directions.

The AI apparently thinks adjusting balance by 4-5 ships in a direction that opposes its goal has some merit. If I can only see inefficiency in the machines that contest my ownership of the galaxy.

I also find it interesting that one can click the stars in the background of the menu though there is no apparent effect.

And in the same manor that you have play obfuscated the link, and it took me a few weeks to realize that it was phonetic.  I just realized that TNP stands for the next project and not "The Nutty Player" (title) sometimes the obvious just takes too long to grasp.

The simulation mode breaking gameplay has been fixed locally, and you will see it in the next update.

I've spent the past week completely re-designing the UI system. I'm almost done. When that goes live, there will be a different play link as well.
