Title: Using NGUI in open source project
Post by: Shadow on December 07, 2013, 07:54:14 PM
Good day. I am making the game, which would be.... mainly open source. I had found some mentions that NGUI is available with some 'distribution' version, for such projects. But only mention on it on Unity forum, and most open source resources are likely to verify that I am not coming against your license with my game. Are there some mentions in license?

I wouldn't mind it being closed-source and part of project, for I am more concerned with making good game, than ideological things here.
So, I have two questions:
1. Can I use NGUI PRO in open-source project? ( With it being closed-source ).
2. Can I use NGUI free in such project?

1. No, NGUI can't be used in open source projects because it's not open source.
2. Yes. Also note that I will be releasing a new version of the NGUI Free in the coming weeks that will be based on the NGUI 3.X cycle.

I don't seem to see the open-sourced NGUI 3 that you mention.

That's because it never happened. :P

I chose to focus my efforts on making NGUI 3 better instead.
