I'm glad to announce that I2 SmartEdge is now available in the AssetStore!

It allows rendering PIXEL PERFECT texts at any Size while also ANIMATING each of the characters in a text to create beautiful transitions and add emphasis to buttons and other UI elements.
SmartEdge also allows DEFORMING a text to follow any curve and contour.

   
The strongest point of the plugin, is the usage of SDF and Multi-Channel Signal Distance Fields to not only render pixel perfect texts and effects but also preserve sharp corners and straight lines!
(No more blurriness when scaling the Texts!)



SmartEdge integrates with Unity UI and NGUI out of the box. So, it can be used to increase the visual quality of your project without having to do heavy modifications.
Just click to patch NGUI, create an SDF or MSDF font and add the SmartEdge component to your labels!

I'm the creator of I2 Localization, and as you may know, I have been working on a new plugin for Unity named I2 SmartEdge.

SmartEdge is now in a close beta with plans of releasing the first version later next month).

As part of the close beta, I'm looking for developers interested in trying the plugin on their NGUI project. You will get a FREE PREVIEW version to try!

At the end of the beta period, I will grant access to the all future versions of SmartEdge for FREE to the developers that actively reported bugs or send me Rendering and Animation presets that I could share with the community.

So, if you want to be included and get the full plugin for FREE, just test SmartEdge and help me get it ready for release!

NGUI 3 Support / I2 Localization now supports NGUI!!!

Hi,

After 3 weeks in the Store queue the I2 Localization for NGUI plugin is finally on the Asset Store!

It introduces custom editors to the NGUI Localization components.

It also links the NGUI localization files with Google Spreadsheets and provides several batch tools to parse all scenes to find Missing or Unused Keys.

Also provides Auto translation of keys using the google translation service and allows editing keys, languages and description directly inside Unity, etc.



While the plugin was pending review in the store I continue updating it and adding features to easy the localization process.

Release notes for the current version (1.0.2) up to the latest alpha (2.0.0 a1) can be found at:

The new changes allow localizing not only Labels, Sprites, and UITextures, but also Sounds, Fonts, Prefabs, Atlasses. Also DF-GUI is now supported and uGUI as of the latest Unity Beta 4.6.0b3



The latest version includes support for localizing several elements in each target (Labels localize the text and the Font according to the language, Sprites modify the SpriteName and the Atlas, etc)

Also tons of other features got in the latest version like Categorizing Keys for easy browsing, Compile-Time-Checking for terms used in the scripts among others.

If you have any suggestion on how to improve the plugin or need help setting it up, don't hesitate in joining the Inter-Illusion forum

NGUI 3 Support / Localization Plugin for NGUI (open beta)

Hello,

I just finished a plugin that introduces custom editors to the NGUI Localization components.



It also links the NGUI localization files with Google Spreadsheets and allows export/import of CSV files for easy integration into other programs like Microsoft Excel and Numbers.

The plugin also provides other tools like parsing all scenes to find Missing or Unused Keys. Auto translation of keys using the google translation service and allows editing and previewing key languages and description, etc.



It requires no modification of the NGUI source code so upgrading NGUI doesn't become a hustle.

I have been using the plugin in several of our projects, but before sending it to the store I want to run an external beta testing cycle.
