Server vs Server

i realize there is no server to server communication.  but, there are several games out there that have cross server battles.

how would one implement this using TNET?

my first thought is that a user of one server must connect to the hosting server.

would you need to disconnect and re-connect to the hosting server?  is there a way to have a connection to two servers at once?  ie stay connected to your original server while participating in the cross server battle.

any thoughts on how to tackle this would be appreciated.  in the above example, there would be 3 to 10 servers with 500 players (max) per server.

Yes, you would need to disconnect from one and connect to another. In Windward the players are stored on the Steam Cloud, and are loaded when the player connects to a game server. They aren't stored server-side, meaning they are free to travel between servers. As long as your player data isn't server-side, this should be trivial.
