I've noticed on a few occasions that I receive zero points even though I achieved a near total victory (i.e. not a time based victory).
Imagine I am playing 1v1 against the computer and have overrun most of the stars. Everything comes down to the final four. These four stars are in, for example, a box formation. I own two, one appears neutral (I have never sent a ship there) and one is owned by the computer. I start sending ships to the computer star to root it out. Seconds later, realizing I have plenty enough to withstand any counterpunch, I start sending ships from my other star to the neutral star.
I see however that the neutral star actually has some enemy ships there, so they had been trying to take it over but hadn't yet.
What happens next happens quickly so I don't know exactly what goes on. I see on the neutral star the enemy ship count starts dropping as my ships arrive. I don't know if the computer owned star turns neutral before the neutral star becomes devoid of enemy ships or if the enemy ship count in the neutral star drops to zero first but it is close.
Regardless, I get the victory banner but it shows I earned zero points. I am only at level 7 on this device (my iPhone). I have seen it happen on my Mac (desktop version) and in the web player (also on my Mac).
Unfortunately, I haven't thought about taking a snapshot of the victory board, to determine if there is something weird in the numbers there, but something is causing the game to decide that I earned zero points in those sessions.
