NGUI for Unity book by Pack Publishing - too outdated?

Hello,

A friend of mine has offered to loan me the above mentioned book so I can learn to use NGUI. However that book is based on NGUI version 3.0.2 if I read correctly. Does that mean that the information and workflows described in the book will be too out of date, or do most things still apply even with the newest version of NGUI?

Pretty much. There have been a lot of pretty major changes up to and including version 3.0.7. Had they waited a bit and done the book based on 3.0.7, all of it would still be relevant.
