TNet calls them "lobby" servers, and the FAQ explains how to start them up: http://www.tasharen.com/forum/index.php?topic=6538.0

Cool that helps.  Will you consider adding a scene example for the client side in the next tnet update?

Thanks,
Dustin

The menu scene does it. It launches the UDP lobby client that listens for servers on the LAN, which is how you see the servers you've started show up in the right-hand window.

Um if that is the case then...that is bloody brilliant, and you deserve another code medal for true minimalistic beauty.
