NGUI 3 Support / Crash after upgrading ngui

I was using NGUI in my project and everything was working fine. Then one day my boss gave me a newer version of NGUI, when I upgraded to this my game started to crash. If I delete the UI Root game object and run my game it does not crash. Any idea why this is happening? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry that I don't know the version numbers, I will try to find out what the previous and new version numbers are. But based on what I have mentioned does anyone have a clue?
