3D Adventure Game
« on: March 07, 2013, 10:26:23 AM »
Hi All

Im looking to pick up a GUI Editor for Unity, and NGUI is seeming the way forward.

I just wanted to ask some of you guys if you think NGUI is what I actually need. Im making a heavily themed 3D First Person Adventure game and really need something to handle all of my on screen information.

Would NGUI be ideal for subtitling all of your voice overs?
Can it handle text for all the different objects clicked on? (is there an Easier way in unity)
Would you use NGUI inside Puzzles? i.e like the ezgui demo with a lift and security cameras?
I want to animate my text as it appears on the screen (mostly voice overs) is this possible?

Basically, is this going to help me in my adventure game?

Im looking forward to sinking my teeth into it, and im not expecting it to do everything for me, i just want to make sure im not overly complicating things.

Any advice would be great.. cheers :)

Yes, you can do all of that quite easily.
