Problem Creating Font Without an Atlas Because Atlas Cannot be Removed

Fonts can be created without an atlas, but I cannot figure out how to remove a default atlas from the Output section of Font Maker.  An atlas is placed there automatically by NGUI and it can be replaced by another existing atlas (via "edit") but never removed such that "None (UIAtlas)" shows up.   

Sorry about the simple question but I just can't figure it out after searching the forum and Google.

You can also click on the reference (so it highlights the atlas in the project window) and click delete or backspace, then it removes the reference in the inspector.
