Atlasing bug : sprites switched

This happens a lot: when updating a sprite, a gear becomes a diamond and vice versa.
How can this be fixed on 2.70?

I think I have been running into a very similar problem.  I have found that after making the edit to the atlas I have to save the atlas and restart Unity or the atlas data seems to get corrupt.

Make sure to save the scene after every modification to the atlas. If you don't, bad stuff happens. If you have ex2D, make sure it's using the latest version as it's been known to cause issues with NGUI atlases.
