UIFont "Import Data" field not accepting Text Asset

I'm having an issue with UIFont where the "Import Data" Inspector field seems to not accept the text asset of a bitmap.

This isn't the case of the fnt not being named txt. It claims to have Imported the characters however it still says after dragging the asset into the field "None (TextAsset)".

Has anyone run into this issue? Could this be a conflict with dropbox? Thank you

Once you drag the data, it gets imported right away. Reference doesn't get kept as it's not needed.
