The State Of NGUI Documentation
« on: November 20, 2013, 02:48:47 PM »
I made an account to air a grievance others I know share with NGUI's available documentation.
I have been unable to find any official documentation for NGUI 3.0 outside of a few videos (Reference documentation aside). On slower connections watching these videos at a useful resolution is impossible. In addition, gleaning specific points of information is difficult, and searching within the videos is often inefficient.

NGUI 3.0 needs better documentation than is currently available*. The documentation on the older versions was slightly lacking, but the text based tutorials helped fill in some gaps. The example scenes aren't of much use either, as they use non extensible methods to complete tasks, which are impractical for larger UIs/projects.

* I realize "on the scale of things" NGUI is far from badly documented, but I expect more of such a ubiquitous UI solution.

I agree with you and will be taking steps to remedy that shortly. This has been mentioned in the "voice your opinion" thread. A future version of NGUI will feature "help" buttons on all the standard components that will take you to specific threads here where you can find documentation and ask questions.
