Clarification on UIWidget Depth property behavior
« on: July 04, 2013, 09:23:29 AM »
Hi,

Just to be clear, a lower Depth value on a UIWidget should result in that widget appearing behind a UIWidget with a higher Depth value, right?  (Yes, I know the rules about the widgets needing to be in the same Panel and sharing the same Atlas--so I'm not concerned with that for this question.)

I just visualized the "Forward" button in the editor as pushing the UIWidget further into the screen (i.e. deeper), and the "Back" button bringing it closer to the camera, but it seems to be the opposite of that.  If I treat the Depth value as equivalent to "Draw order", it makes a lot more sense to me.  I just want clarification that this is expected behavior, to make sure I don't have something configured incorrectly.

Thanks!

Forward brings it forward (closer to you). Back pushes it farther back (away from you).
