Player A hosts fine. Player B hosts oddly
« on: April 12, 2014, 11:48:31 AM »
I tried hosting a game with a person across the country, and it worked fine. I could move, and he could move.

I told him to host a game and I joined. He could move around just fine, but I could not.

For some reason I couldn't send him the data needed to move my person. I'm getting his updates on where people were located, because he would move me around by bumping into me. He was sending data to me just fine, so I assume something was going wrong from me sending data to him.

It's weird though, because it had no problem when I was a host sending even more data.

I can't replicate the problem with two separate computers within my city.

Anybody have any experiences like this?

I'll keep exploring what's wrong, but I thought I'd see if somebody knew anything.

Are you sending data via SendQuickly using an older version of TNet?

I am using "SendQuickly" for the ones being dropped. Didn't even think about that. Things sent continuously like directional input aren't being sent

All the "Send" calls work. Things sent once like color change are being sent.

But I'm pretty sure I'm using the latest version. I believe I redownloaded the package (via email link, not asset store) about less than a month ago.

Less than a month should be fine, that's 1.8.5. I'm pretty sure the UDP detection logic is in that. Odd that it doesn't work in your case...

Yeah, still the latest version. I'll keep looking into it.

I think it was just an error on my end. It doesn't do it anymore. Thanks anyway.
